Lampard jnr.. Cole.. Carrick all playing together is some trio isn't it.
Tihinen and Schemell both played a blinder.
In fact our front six that day had some serious names in there.
WHU support were magnificent that day.

At that game there was singing and everything before hand and in front of me was a burberry capped young fellow who had taken his mrs.
After a rendition of does she take it up the arse for posh spice, she shouted at the top of her voice to him " so where do you think posh spice sits then"
Just as the singing had finished and was quiet. Everyone turned round and looked who had said it and were laughing, poor chap didn't know where to look or what to say.

Yeah went to that fucking one * sigh *... drove to Macclesfield (IIRC) and got the Metro in... afterwards me and 2 MATES on the Metro home my phone goes... and at the time my ringcall was Bubbles... this blaring out in a Metro full of Mancs... my MATES faces.. answwered the phone.. the wife

All I can say is thank fuck they whacked us 0.6... still a long tram ride back with piss taking galore...

4 - It was not long before the start of Beckham mania (probably launched with the freekick v Greece) so his introduction was far lower key than it would be a few months later.
Introduction?? He'd been around for years... remember few years before he was getting the old Does she take it up the arse songs... and obviously him and all the shit he got getting sent off in 1998 WCF's

A few things caught my eye with this.
1 - Di Canio's run before the goal is brilliant. Man Utd's defenders just stood and watched Kanoute as the Italian maestro weaved in and out of them.
2 - ITV's graphics were awful
3 - Surely a team playing against a defence with Stuart Pearce and Nigel Winterburn in it would overload down their right.
4 - It was not long before the start of Beckham mania (probably launched with the freekick v Greece) so his introduction was far lower key than it would be a few months later.
5 - Clive Tyldesley mentions that there were still thoughts of Beckham playing centrally. Never worked out that way.

Had a ticket... as my record at OT was fucking terrible ... I gave it up as it clashed with our Sunday mobs semi final... we lost that... and West ham won... and my MATES had a right fucking good day out... Big Big Mistake
